The objective of the Swaziland (Eswatini) National Bibliography (SNB) is to provide a complete catalogue of publications and other documents issued in the Kingdom of Swaziland (Eswatini) and by Swazi authors which have been deposited at the University of Swaziland Libraries, the Swaziland National Library and the Swaziland National Archives in terms of the Swaziland National Library Act, 2002.

Swaziland (Eswatini) National Bibliography

The objective of the Swaziland (Eswatini) National Bibliography (SNB) is to provide a complete catalogue of publications and other documents issued in the Kingdom of Swaziland and by Swazi authors which have been deposited at the University of Swaziland Libraries, the Swaziland National Library and the Swaziland National Archives in terms of the Swaziland National Library Act, 2002. The SNB includes monographs, serials, conference proceedings as well as other publications of government, International agencies, statutory bodies, societies and associations.  In addition, the bibliography includes periodical articles and other publications issued from other countries whose subject matter relates to Swaziland. Most of the entries in the SNB include materials available at the University of Swaziland Library’s main online public access catalogue which is accessible at http//library.uniswa.sz, as well as those from the Swaziland National Library and Parliament library.

Cataloguing

The entries have been compiled in accordance with the second edition of the Anglo American Cataloguing Rules, with a few minor adaptations.

Classification

The bibliography is subject classified according to the Dewey Decimal Classification Scheme, 22nd edition, and is complemented by the Library of Congress Subject Headings, 34th edition.
