The Library supports the educational, research and learning functions of the University and a number of services are directed to these efforts. The services offered are:

  • Reference assistance
Through the reference service, the library assists users with bibliographic and literature searches and answering specific inquiries. To this end, a regularly updated reference collection providing current and concise information on various subjects is available.
  • Circulation
An automated check-out and check-in circulation service enables users to borrow library materials for use at a time and place convenient to them.
  • Inter-library loan
Through the inter-campus loan system, users at the three campuses have access to all the collections and services of the respective libraries. Materials that may not be available at the three campus libraries are borrowed from affiliated national and regional libraries and information services and made available to users in the shortest possible time.
  • Internet and CD-ROM database searches
Users have access to computer based bibliographic and informational services comprising:
    • Networked CD-ROM databases searchable through dedicated terminals.
    • Internet searches at designated public access terminals.
    • Staff assistance with CD-ROM and Internet information searches.
  • Duplication
User needs for copies of high demand, non-circulating, reference, periodical and other materials are met through duplication services that include:
    • Photocopying.
    • Microfiche/film printing services.
    • Dubbing of tapes and cassettes.
  • Block loans
Teaching departments may borrow twenty-five (25) items for a period of one semester. Only the Head of Department or a formally designated staff member will be permitted to borrow books for the department on block loan.
